Community Outreach
Niagara Peninsula Geological SocietyGiving Back, Inspiring Growth
At NPGS Club, we believe in the power of community connection and education. Our team regularly volunteers time to share knowledge, spark curiosity, and support local events.
📚 Educational Talks
We are often asked to give talks at libraries, schools, and community centers. NPGS has touch tables of rocks, minerals, and fossils from around the region that we can bring to allow people from the community an opportunity to see and learn about our local geology.
Additionally, we can sometimes tailor a presentation to your group’s specific needs. If you would like to know more about fossils, for example, we can focus just on those.
There is absolutely no charge for our outreach talks.
🎨 Activities & Events
At NPGS, we love to be involved with the community. We especially like to engage with our younger members and see if we can inspire some future geologists. We have offered a range of different rock related activities and crafts at community events. From painting beach rocks, to giving out colouring sheets, or doing soap stone carving demonstrations.
NPGS is a not for profit corporation. There are sometimes fees associated with more involved activities. However, we work with all types of budgets and can customize activities to suit your need
